Immigration, the Police State

It is certainly no coincidence that US congressional Republicans attempted to add an amendment curtailing President Obama’s immigration executive orders to the funding of the Department of Homeland Security. Immigration has always been a “concern” for national security, in the US and globally. Why just this morning Ann Coulter couldn’t help but write an op-Ed for WorldNetDaily where she claims illegal immigrants pose a bigger threat than ISIS. As a foreigner in Korea, currently sitting at the intimidating immigration office where one waits in endless lines only to be told that one also needs some obscure document, immigration is its own national security script or discourse all over the world. The immigration employees sit behind glass windows not unlike bank tellers; what is it that they are protecting or safeguarding?

More thoughts on immigration shall follow.
